Choreography: John Alleyne
Music: Tobin Stokes
In celebration of Ballet Kelowna’s 15th anniversary season, the Company presents its first full-length ballet – A Streetcar Named Desire, by renowned Canadian choreographer John Alleyne.
Adapted from Tennessee Williams’ 1947 Pulitzer Prize winning drama, Alleyne’s Streetcar combines compelling dance with superb acting, lavish costumes, and an original jazz score by BC-based composer Tobin Stokes.
Drawing on the complexities of Williams’ play, this production of Streetcar is an intensely passionate and intoxicating ballet of dramatic conflict, sexual tension, and intrigue.
“An impressive achievement.” ~ Globe and Mail
Produced with the generous support of Ballet BC.
