TELUS's Community Board has funded Ballet Kelowna's new youth outreach and education program providing disadvantaged youth with front row seating to attend Ballet Kelowna's Fall and Spring Matinees and performances throughout the Thompson Okanagan Region, participate in the post performance Q & A, and meet the dancers after the performance to get autographed posters. For the majority this will be their time they will experience a breathtakingly beautiful dance program live and up close!
Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy Shining a Light on Ballet KelownaDominic Petraroia, on behalf of his law firm Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy, presents David LaHay and the dancers with a cheque for $5,000 to underwrite the costs of a new lighting board for our Tech Team. The new board will significantly help with staging on our tours. In making the presentation Mr. Petrarioa said, "We are happy to assist in this way so that the dancers and crew can focus on their performance and artistry in each community they travel to.
Thank you to BMO Bank of Montreal for their support of our Community Outreach programme. Their 3-year commitment totalling $15,000 for education for youth in the communities we travel to. This programme supports Master Classes, special Matinee performances and also 'Talk Back' sessions after performances.
Pirouette is moving to the Delta Grand Okanagan and will feature a brigade of Master Chefs, under the direction of Honourary Chair Jamie Maw. Recently the dancers and Artistic Director David LaHay had the chance to meet General Manager Daniel Bibby and Executive Chef Stuart Klassen for a fun photo shoot for promoting our new Pirouette Magenta theme. The dancers can give their hard-working feet a break with pedicures or other treatments with their gift certificates and all of the dancers love the cosiness of the lush EvelineCharles robes.

Ballet Kelowna dancer Christina Cecchini was "adopted" by Kelowna philanthropist Tom Budd for the second season at the official launch of Ballet Kelowna's 7th Season. Pictured here, Mr. Budd is given an introduction to ballet and some pointers on how to assist a ballerina with the perfect pirouette, after which he commented “this makes me realize that everyone can enjoy ballet”. With deepest appreciation, Ballet Kelowna thanks Mr. Budd for his generous support in "adopting" his ballerina for a second season.

This very special performance opens the door for kids to attend a favoured holiday classic for free. Other wonderful sponsors for this performance are Mel and Dina Kotler and Fabricland who are sponsoring a stocking of Holiday gifts for each child attending.
