Something Old & Something New

What a wonderful season 2011-2012 is shaping up to be. Only back in the studio for two weeks, the dancers have already had the pleasure of remounting Toronto choreographer D.A. Hoskins transcendental The Lark Ascending with the choreographer present to engage and challenge them with this emotional work.  The big excitement this week is having Montreal choreographer Shawn Hounsell with us to create a new work for Ballet Kelowna. Shawn is well known nationally and has most recently premiered his first very successful full-length ballet “Wonderland” with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. His yet to be titled exciting commission for Ballet Kelowna promises to enliven our present repertoire and enthrall audiences.
